Neons blue stripe changed color???

As with any normal day recently, I was feeding my fish before leaving for work. Since they are reasonably new, I always like to count them all and give them a quick once over to make sure they all appear healthy. Today I noticed something strange on one of my Neon Tetras.

It appears that his turquoise colored stripe on one side has now turned a purple color. Its odd since his other side appears to have the normal bright turquoise color to it. There really is a distinctive difference between the two sides now. I watched to make sure he ate and he was swimming around and didn't appear to have stress of any sort. Just curious if anyone has ever seen this happen before and whether or not I should be worried. I'll try to get a picture up later when I get home from work.

P.s. Still waiting on my API test kit to arrive, but based on my crummy test strips, my water appears to be okay. ammonia was at 0, Nitrites were 0 and Nitrates were somewhere between 0 and .25 (it was darker than the 0 color but lighter than the .25).

Did you just turn on the lights in the tank?

It was still early enough in the morning where my top lights hadn't clicked on yet. They recieve a decent amount of natural light in the morning. I guess that I had just opened the blinds so technically I did just "turn the lights on"

My other five neons looked like they normally did.

Sometimes they take a little time to color back up.

I've noticed the blue on my neons change shades at times, one looking different than the other.

Keep your eye on it, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Thanks Lucy. I appreciate the advice. I'll make sure to keep an eye on him and hopefully he was just "waking up" this morning.

Figured I'd give a quick update...I came home from work today and everything looks good. I couldn't pick out the exact fish that looked wierd this morning, but my school of 6 all have the normal blue/turquoise color to them.
