hi,
i recently notice (like 1 week ago) that i have a very fat neon tetra. i did a search on google and all i could find is that neons just don't get pregnant so there is no way that it is pregnant.

what else could be wrong with it?

could it just be fat? but if that's the case then it is really really fat.
i'll try and post some pictures when i get home but if anybody knows anything about it i would appreciate it.

I've heard that they don't breed if the pH is too high so check your pH.. if it is, then your neon is probably fat or possibly sick. I've definitely seen fat neons before!!

You're right, they don't get pregnant but they do hold the eggs so that could be it too!

Are there any other signs? Loss of color or anything?

A picture would definitely help! I have a feeling she's just tubby...

If it doesn't seem like it's pregnant, then I think there might be internal parasites.

internal parasites again?! i just treated my tank with Parasite Clear Tablets like 3 weeks ago.
I'll post a picture tonight when I get home. I think it might just be fat.

Oh and there is no loss of color at all and it has been swiming and eating just fine too.
