I bought a large school of neons at first and since then, I'm sad to say that only 6 are left -I have had my fair share of troubles resulting in the loss of a few...

However - my main concern is that I want to add a few more and I wonder how well they'd get on with my existing ones.

See my neons are a little chunky - about 3cm + and the ones you can buy are only very small; Would they school together or would the small ones be bullied by the bigger boys?

Any thoughts?

Usually the existing ones are a little nippy for a few days then they start being friends

I hope so - My main concern would be the size difference - It wouldn't be long before the little ones caught up but I'd be worried about stressing them out by being bullied by the big ones.

not to mention, it'd probably look a little silly too :P

Well how long did it take your other ones to get to their size? that is probably how long it will take the new ones.

just about a month or two - I know they'll catch up - only concern is their well being until they do :P

i think they will be OK too. i have 5 neons and one is noticeably smaller than the other 4, but they get along great.

I had 3 neons and I went to the store to get more,there was one left and he was smaller than the other 3.I got him and when I put him in the tank he bullied the bigger ones for a week or 2 but im glad to say hes stoped but one bigger one still hides alot.Hopfully when I get 2 more they'll school better.Anyway the point is you guys said the bigger bully the new smaller ones,but my experience was the exatct opposite.
