I didn't know where else to ask this.....

My female neon.....at least I think it is female.....rounder belly and curved blue line......hovers just above the gravel kind of wiggleing her tail. It's pretty cute and she does not at all seem in distress.
The first time she did this was near the base of a fake plant, the next 2 times it was inside of a swim thru cave where it is dark.
If I were to take a wild guess, I would think she was laying eggs, but I didn't see any, nor, from what I have read are my tank conditions right for this.

Any ideas?

You and me both I don't know for sure but I too am guessing one of the following:

• Waiting for a mate to come and court her
• Getting ready to lay eggs

Just my thoughts from what I see happening in my tank

How many neons are in the tank?

My tank (55g) has 10 Neons. From what I have found on the net about figuring out which is male and female, I think I have 2 males and 8 females. If so, that was a stroke of good fortune IMO

Not sure if Lucy has only the one though

I have 3 so far, the ones at the store looked terrible, so I haven't added any more yet.
