I purchased two neon tetras yesterday (yes I know it's not enough) and they seemed fine in my tank. I have six white clouds, an otocinclus, and a blue dwarf gourami. They seemed to school right along with my white clouds. I laid down tonight and looked in my aquarium and saw one of the neon tetras swimming in a spiral up and down and just in an altogether weird motion. Then I saw that his eye was bulging out. I netted him out and put him in a bucket with some of my aquarium's water. Unfortunately he died withing about five minutes. I'm really trying to figure out what may have happened. My main idea is that he got to close to the power filter's intake and his eye may have gotten in the grate and it damaged him. The only other thing I can figure is that my dwarf gourami (who isn't aggressive at all save for chasing my Oto around and annoying him, and staring down my
betta who is divided from the other fish. I just don't believe he is big enough or aggressive enough to have done that. Given the circumstances do any of you have any ideas?
