| Hmm maybe an anemone. They can be really hard in some species.
Some inverts may be some shrimps or snails and myabe an urchin?

From Matt | hmmm, i didnt think of an urchin, i was thinking some very "lively" live rock and maybe some mushrooms
Also, i read that sexy shrimp need 30 gallon tanks, but i often see pico reefs with sexy shrimp in them, can someone clear this up for me? |

| I wouldn't go with an urchin in that small of a space. They're difficult to keep alive, and they're also wanderers. They filter the sand for food, would quickly run out, and would try to leave the tank to find more.
I would say pick between one and three non-aggressive corals that you like the looks of (think about colors that look good together, if you want), and a single, small cleaner shrimp and maybe a snail. |

There would probably be less diversity because of the small amount of live rock, but it would also give you a chance to see more of the small denizens of the live rock. |

| yeah, i would really like that i think. i can just pour some distilled water, mix it with some salt, see if a LFS will give me a scoop of sand, and let it cycle for a week or two
then ill get my rock and stuff |

| One thing is for the 1g the amt of live rock you would need you could get away w/ the high dollar live rock that is really loaded w/ living stuff. That will be cool. Mine was loaded down with all kinds of critters, I even ended up w/ a hitch-hiked clam. |

I noticed that w/ my 14g that my calcium stays at 450 w/ my salt w/o dosing. I haven't checked the other trace elements, but I do know that the iodine must be up where it should be, my shrimps have molted and done great, which they need the iodine.
This site was so cool because it showed the tanks from the live rock set up, to the nasty hair algae stage, all the way up to the beautiful corals. It really made me not feel like my tank was so ugly (I just got past the "algae" stage). I am just now starting to ad corals, so it will be months on end getting my "beautification" process going.
That site even listed their lighting methods, what and how they fed, etc. |

| Could you give us some examples, Matt? Most of us know how to do YouTube and Google searches, so a general "do a search" isn't really a helpful post. However, if you have seen a particularly beautiful pico idea, please feel free to post it. |
