best light and hood for 10 gal?

Just staring out with my first marine tank...

Any recommendations on a lighting product for a 10 gal with live rock?

What about filtration, is live rock really enough? How strong does the current really have to be?

The tank is currently cyling with the original hood, but it's only 15watts and I'm concerned that is not enough.

Thanks!

Lighting only matters if you are going to keep coral and anenomies. If it is a FOWLR tank then regular florucent lighting will work.
With a FOWLR tank you will need some sort of a filter. A HOB filter will be fine as you will not get quite enough filtration from the live rock at that size.

For a 10gal tank a T5 fixure should be fine.
You can get a 2 light setup with a 10k bulb and a atinic blue bulb. just make sure that each bulb has it's own reflector.

You can do coral with compact flourescent lighting if you keep to the low light soft corals. There are a good variety of softies that would do nicely in such lighting if you have a tight budget and don't want to spend a lot on lighting. They generally aren't the most colorful of the corals, but still very nice IMO.
I've had a 15gallon reef setup with CF lighting....I had mushrooms, gorgonian, leathers, zoas, xenia.....all did well. You couldn't keep anemones with that lighting though.....

Water movement is important in reef tanks. I'd put a couple of HOBs or one larger one on a 10....just as much for water movement as for filtration. If you get an Aquaclear Hob, they have a good size holding tank that you could setup as a fuge with rubble and macro as long as you have some type of light over it. My HOB fuges do fine with a normal screw in 10watt CF bulb over them. Adding at least one power head in there would be a good idea as well.
