JBJ Nano Tanks

Are those Nano Tanks ready to go when it comes to setting up a saltwater aquarium? I mean, does it have everything necessary such as the skimmer and such to adequately care for saltwater life?

I have the 28 gallon JBJ Nano cube 150 watt hqi metal halide. Here is my take on it: JBJ Nanocube Saltwater Tank Setup

Thank you

Thanks. I've read that two or three times now, it is helpful. I guess my question now is what area do you live in that it overheats so much? I live in the Northeast US where my house stays colder I am sure than in the South. It all looks very nice and affordable except for the chiller. Thanks a lot for the information.

I keep the house around 70F. A less expensive alternative to a chiller would be to use a fan blowing across the sump area in back of the jbj cube whenever the 150 watt metal halide is on. The downside is that you'll have to do more frequent water top-offs.

I have set up the nanocube, and I have noticed that I am getting microbubbles in my tank. I am using the stock Protien Skimmer, could that be the cause? If so, it is contrary to what they claim, they say the counter current does not introduce these bubbles, so I am confused.

How long has the tank been set up? If you used tap water then it willt ake several days for the dissolved oxygen to vet out. Also, depending on the salt you sued, it may take awhile to fully dissolve. I know in the old days when I sued Instant Ocean I ahd that issue, especially with submerged power filters using the airator hose. Oceanic I do not have that issue, and the nano move enough water that I do not airate it.

As for lights, 150w MH on a small Nano is going to generate massive ehat. I ahve the 24 gallon with t5's and it is much better about that. The t-5'sd work very well with nano. the tank is not very deep, and MH is more for penetration of deeper tanks IMO.
