10 gallon Nano-Reef
So, just when I thought I had enough tanks... I moved my arowana, ornate bichir and baby royal pleco into their 90 gallon from the 25, I then moved the guppies into the planted 25... so just have a little 10 gallon. Which is the perfect size for a nano tank! I already have the reef salt, heater and two 15 watt power compact life-glo lights (which are eqivalent to 75 watt bulbs) so I'll be able to grow some corals. Today or tomorrow I'll be picking up a koralia 1 (which will give me 40x the tanks volume in rotation) as well as a filter which I'll convert into a fuge system, and another filter to help all the live rock with the filtration.
Tanks Specs:
- 10 gallon all glass tank
- 50 watt submersible heater
- koralia 1 powerhead (400 gph)
- 15 lbs live rock
Eventual Livestock:
- 1 Firefish
- 1 Court Jester Goby
- 2 hermit crabs
- 5 snails
- 1 coral banded shrimp
corals!!!!

Your going to want to check the kelvin on the life-glow bulbs, if there for freshwater then you will want to get saltwater one's if you are planning on corals. Congrats on the nano though, sounds fun, pictures

Yea,
That isn't the best nano skimmer but it is the cheapest. Some say it is great but others say it is horrible. Some good but expensive skimmers are the AquaC Remora and Tunze 9005 skimmer.
I am also trying to start a 10G nano reef. Hope yours works out!
Thats the smae light I am getting! Just not from them. I am getting all my stuff from Premium Aquatics. They have good reviews and shipping is super cheap and so are there items.
Oh yeah here is a link to a good DIY skimmer. The forum that it is on is also very good. It is dedicated to Nano Reefs. You might want to check it out.

I'll be getting alot of my stuff through A candian store called JL Aquatics. I actually just got off the phone with them, ordered 65 lbs of figi rock for under 370 canadian after shipping, which is about 3.5 dollars less per pound than what the lfs stores are selling it for
