Well my wife has spoken and she is wanting a small SW aquarium. What I'm considering doing is taking the 5G bowfront Eclipe that I got in the jackpot aquarium purchase (see Jackpot Aquariums in my blog) and converting it to a SW system.

I'd like if yall could post what I would need to do other than clean everything really well. Mostly looking at additional equiment needed. Again, this is a Marineland Eclipse 5 that has the built in lighting/filtration in the hood.

lucky you on the chance to start a SW tank! But what can you really put into a 5 gal tank that would be worth the money its going to take to set it up? After you put in the live rock etc, you wont have much room for any fish. Since your wife ok'd the SW tank.. why not go with something bigger?

This is why I'm asking for feedback.

Far as fish, we were considering a single clown fish and the small purple body, yellow tail fish (we call them the LSU fish).

We would want to use the 5G if possible as we already have it.

Looks like we will hold off on setting up a SW tank. We looked at the Aquapod, nano cube, etc and really like those. We are considering a 34 gallon model with a stand, but we will wait until after we do some home modifications until we get something.
