| Ok guys,
I stumbled onto a speed bump in my little project. My guy who I talked with to cut my glass closed his shop down. When I first talked to him, he told me that at the end of the year he was moving to his home and out of his shop. That if I wouldn't be ordering the glass until after the end of the year to call him back and get his home number. Well, the week before New Years I try calling and no answer. He must have moved all his stuff prior as I can't get ahold of him. I've tried a few more places and the cheapest I've found if $60. My other guy only wanted $25 and included bringing it back to him to polish the corners.
So now I'm thinking of just getting a simple rectangle 10G glass tank. I've seen the dimensions of them and they are only 12" deep, which won't take up much of my reference desk space. I can still use my mini-canister and heater that I bought for the custom corner pentagon tank. I would need to find a tank with hood and light. Worst case, find bare tank and buy a hood and light for it. I feel the fish will have way more swimming room in a 10G tank than the custom 6G. It's almost twice as long at 21" long compared to only 12" for the custom tank.
Then I seen that Marineland has a 12 gal GLASS Eclipse system on their website. This has interested me as all the other systems have been acrylic and I'm not fond of acrylic. If I go this route, then I lose out on my mini-canister that was bought. I will still need to use my heater though, so no lose there. I'm also having trouble finding any online dealers that have the glass version Eclipse, I'm thinking it's that newly released.
On another note, how would yall stock a 10G tank? I surely want cherry barbs, but what else to go along with them? |
