Coral Farming (few questions)

So I'm going to attempt coral farming in my 5.5 gallon tank. I'm going to farm zoo's and sell them to my lfs. Tank has been ready for over a week now and I hope to get my CUC tomorrow and maybe a zoo tomorrow also.
CUC:
2 cerith snails
2 astrea snails
1 peppermint shrimp

Anybody see a problem with this?

I've read the best way to frag zoo's is to put a small piece of rock next to the mother colony of zoo's and cut some off when they have grown onto the rock, this correct?

Thanks

Re: Coral Farming (few questions)

What does CUC mean?

Double check that the snail and shrimp species you're getting will leave the zoanthids alone. Keep your pH, alkalinity and calcium levels on target, provide plenty of light (put them as high in the tank as possible) and they should do ok. You could also get some of those fragging plugs and put them all around the rock they come in on and see if they spread to the plugs. Then you don't have to frag em, you just remove the plugs.

Re: Coral Farming (few questions)

cuc=clean up crew, sorry just something I read online

thanks, I'm going to buy a alkalinity and calcium test kit and see if I need to buy some buffers before I buy the corals. I haven't read that the astrea snails or peppermint shrimp should bother them and I got margarita snails instead of ceriths's though Imight have to return them since they like cooler water. A lfs by me sells small pieces of LR so I might buy a couple lbs. of that and stick it in my aquaclear and use it like fragging plugs. I might not do zoo's and instead green star polyp since there's one at my lfs that I really like, just hope they don't sell it for awhile.
