Cleaning in my tank room?

Both of my tanks are located in my bedroom. Tomorrow a cleaning crew is coming in to clean the house professionally (clean the walls, carpet the rug, dust, clean the windows etc.) my mom likes to have it done once or twice a year. I just realized that they can't be spraying all sorts of stuff around the room because of the fumes and all that kind of stuff. What am i supposed to tell them? the other thing is i have my carpet professional cleaned everyonce in a while. What about the fumes from the stuff they use for that?

Hello FullOfIt, I set bug bombs off in my house twice a year and of course both of my tanks are inside. I turn off ceiling fans, everything to do with the aquarium itself (filters, pumps, air pumps everything). Cover the tank and filter with plastic. It stays this way for almost 2 hours. Then I come in open all the windows, turn on fans and AC unit fans for 30 minutes. Then I uncover and start my tank and everything is fine. However, there are debates as to how long your cycle will last. I can only tell you what has worked for me. Open your windows (weather permitting) at least cover your tank with towels and turn everything off while they clean. (Make them hurry but do a good job ) I would suggest you tell them no air fresheners/ sprays in your room. They can spray furniture polish on the rag outside of your room
I think your fish will be fine. Leave post it notes if you have to.

if you turn off the filter, make sure that you stick the filter media in the tank water itself, just remove whatever media you have in there and put it somewhere in the tank so it stays wet and won't crash your cycle
