Clowns In My Tank.

Hi all. is it possible to have more than one pair of clowns in my tank. I have a 170ltr tank and have one pair in at the moment but would love to add more. i was thinking of maroon clowns. any comments would be very welcome. hope to hear from you all soon.

many thanks.

Maroon clowns are not usually tolerant of other clowns. This factor is increased if the size of the tank is somewhat small. On average a Maroon needs 30g for this type of clown will grow to an average of 5 to 6 inches with the females being larger.

Clowns are generally acceptable of other clowns of their species with the exception of the the maroon. Keep in mind of the basics, that bullying others due to size may occur or territory disputes. You know basic fish life...unless actual harm is occuring to your fish it basically is the norm.

The only tank i've seen with more than 2 clowns in it had 40 clowns and 30 anemones for them to hide in. It was 280 gallons, roughly 1059 liters.

They still bickered a lot according to the tanks owner.
