C-Balance vs Kalkwasser

Any advice on which of these works the best?
Does one have more pros than cons?
Seeing as they both help the alkalinity and pH stable, is this better than using a separate calcium supplement and buffer?

Any adverse reactions in in the use of C-balance/kalkwasser that you would need to keep an eye on after adding it?

Also would you need to test the water for anything after adding it?

I have heard much more of Kalkwasser and would trust that brand more

Not really.

yes, its really good for SPS too

Any adverse reactions in in the use of C-balance/Kalkwasser that you would need to keep an eye on after adding it?
YES. It should be added int he correct dosage to top off water, atleast one gallon

Also would you need to test the water for anything after adding it?
calcium, ph, alk, magnesium

I hope this helps. I do not use it but thi is what i have read and understand. Feel free to get a second opinion

+1 to above however...

I currently use C-Balance. Compared to Kalk its MUCH simpilar to use. Its in a bottle. No mixing, no waiting, no stiring, no drip lines....its just easier to measure and pour. Seems to work very well in my tank.

I am going to try Kalk in my new tank when it gets setup. I've heard Kalk is good as well, but its just more work having to mix it and stuff. Can be done cheap compared to buying products like C-Balance. 5gal jug, Pickling lime from the grocery store, and water and you are set.

Haha yeah. It really is pretty easy to drip Kalk, i just prefer the two part for now in such a small tank. I'd suggest though that you make sure you have a sump for the tank with Kalk, that way you can drip into the sump without any worries.
