Another Aiptasia Muncher!!!!

Well I just watched Aiptasia get hammered by a fish... and the fish is a Round Face Bat Fish ( Platax teira ).
Dont know what it was about this fish in the LFS, BUT IT WENT NUTS FOR THE AIPTASIA. Due to the fishes size you will need to turn the rock work if the Aiptaisa is in a cave etc, but this was like a 5 year old in a candy shop.
Dont know how it will go with corals or other fish... I am just impressed in the way it munched the Aiptasia..

Why you got to be hatin' on the aips?

Sorry. I'm better now.

A warning about this fish, it gets to be HUGE. 24", and it's taller than it is long.
It also is not reef compatible.

They are cool looking though. I saw one at my LFS and wanted one tell I looked at the details and saw the max size of 24". I'm guessing thats tall right? Cause if they were to get 24" long and keep the same height to length ratio it would be HUGE.

Might be. I'm not sure, though. The picture I saw had no other cues to tell just how big it was.

Yes, that is tall. Cool looking fish, but not right for my tank!

I think the Orbicularis is smaller. I think the Teira is one of the largest ones for aquariums.

Teira
Orbiculate
Pinnate
