Carrot tops?

Hi,
Is it ok to feed my herbivore fish (silver dollar) the leafy part of the carrot (top)? Thanks,
Brianna

If it's organic and free of any dirt, it's probably ok, but i don't know for 100% sure if it would be harmful or not. I'd be interested if the silver dollar would eat it or not.

Re: Carrot tops?

not sure but as they are not toxic (rabbits eat them) and free of pesticides etc probably so! from what i've heard silver dollars eat anything green!!

What's not toxic to mammals may very well be toxic to fish and vice versa....

Re: Carrot tops?

I feed my fish veggies all the time. I put a cuccumber in, with the intention of a treat for my crayfish, but....the whole tank went to town on it, including the guppies. LOL

Veggies are fine. Peas are a good laxative, from what I understand....I have yet to try those. My fish won't eat carrots, I tried.
