Re: Slate Stones

I bought my rocks at one of those places that sells rock to construction companies. I bought 80LB for 20 cents a pound.

Re: Slate Stones

I never used decorations that were not at the pet store before. I read that some rocks aren't safe for your aquarium. How do I know which ones are safe for aquarium use? I also want to make a cave out of rocks. 3 round rocks on the bottom and a slate stone on top. Should I glue it ot is it good enough?

Re: Slate Stones

You can put vinegar on the rock and if it fizzes don't use it. Any rocks found out side need to be washed and boiled. You should have seen me doing that to 80 lb of rocks
It's really safer to use aquarium safe silicon and glue your rocks together. You don't take the chance of them shifting some how and hurting one of your fish or cracking the tank.
