I got a black ghost knife today. He (an assumption) is beautiful. Biggest problem is there is no information on this site that I have found, and not much information online about them.

So, should I be worried about the two little sucker fish in my tank, or the medium sized angel? What about the green barb? It's not very big. I have managed to read that Black Ghost Knife's like to eat smaller fish, my pleco in that tank is new and still quite small, should I worry about it?


What precautions do I need to take with him and water changes?

Any information anyone can give me on this fish would be fantastic!

When I copied "Black Ghost Knife" into the forum search, I came up with a number of threads that discuss him, though. I didn't read through them, but you may want to check them out for some answers.

with the adorable knifes, somethings to really be aware of...the bigger they get, the more brave they get and will eat smaller fish if they can catch them..their eye site isnt great at all and sometimes find it hard to get food but if you see smaller fish starting to disapear, you know hes seeing ok.......they also can get close to 2feet long fast...so very very large tanks are needed....

Thank you Shawnie, do you by any chance know how often I need to feed him/her. I fed him earlier today and a couple hours later when I stuck my hand in to see if he would come to me, he started nibbling on my fingers... They actually have teeth, I was surprised!
