Help With Rehoming Cichlid

I'm rehoming my bio teacher's M. auratus cichlid for her, and I posted an ad on craigslist: **EDIT** I took down the ad

I got a response from someone with a 70g tall tank with african cichlids and a jack dempsey.

I asked what the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings are, and she said: "i'm not sure about all the exact readings but we just had water tested an fountains aquairium and we added driftwood to lower the pH balance. He said everything was really good."

I'm hesitant to give the fish to someone who doesn't have their own test kit. What are your thoughts? Also, are there any additional questions I should ask?

id say a big no no !! ....africans like longer not taller tanks...JD's do not belong with africans, and africans like higher ph not lower...so they dont know much about them IMO...

I agree africans don't mix with jd's, they do need longer tanks, and I wouldn't trust anyone without their own test kit.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad I checked with you guys first! I told her I didn't think the cichlid was well suited to her tank. Hopefully the next person who asks will be a little more qualified

Minnow!!! I have room in my tank and I can take him if he still needs a home I live in San Diego. My tank is a 75 gallon african cichlid set up with sand substrate, lots of rocks, good water parameters.
