More fish rescues...

I was at my grandmothers today & she has a 1.5 gal. tank that she has stocked with 3 neons, 3 head & tail light tetras, and 1 common pleco. She decided that she doesn't like these fish anymore, so she gave them to me. Remember, she gave me a betta she had in there too on Easter. So, now I have them all in my 55 gal.
The pleco is only about 2 in. long, I'm TRYING to get my hands on another 55+ gal. tank, so I plan on keeping him, at least until he gets too big.
Okay, so here's for a rant - I'm searching craigslist and someone has a 55 gal. listed with everything for $55. I e-mail them, no response. I HATE that. Why advertise if you're not going to respond to inquiries?
And, the 1.5 gal. - it says that it comes with an UG filter, but I don't know how it works or anything. I want to put one of my bettas in it, he's not doing well, and a smaller tank will be better for him as he cannot get to the surface easily anymore. Any tips would help.

hey girlie!!! congrats on the rescues..again!!! have you informed gram that what shes doing is making you crazy as well as making the fish unsafe? nawwwwwty gram!!

even tho the plec is small, its not his size as you know its his bio load...so dont assume that 2 inch boy wont polute your tank within a few days....

the 1.5 gal would be fine for the betta to heal up but dont use the UGF...you will not be able to keep it clean and prestine and not to mention it might suck him to the bottom if he is weak...get a small filter for it and he should be fine ....keep it bare bottom with maybe just some big leafed silk plants ...the bare bottom helps it also keep clean..goodluck!

Ugh. I think my gramother does it just to bother me.
YEah....that pleco. My mother is already attached to it.
I think me betta isn't going to be with me much longer, so I'll try to find a small HOB. Drs F & S sell the Azoo Palm filter, it's the smallest they have. Maybe I'll see if Petsmart carries it.

Congrats on your rescues Amanda I can't believe that your Grandma keeps stuffing that tiny tank with so many fish. I am glad you can give them a good home. Sorry to hear that your betta is not doing well I have the Azoo Palm filters on my divided betta tank, and I love them. They work great. Petco doesn't carry them though. I had to order mine through drs foster and smith.

congrats on the new rescues (well, congrats on rescuing them, but not that she's still buying them! )

for a tank that size, my personal recommendation would be the red sea nano art deco filter, i have two of them and they're pretty powerful little things! you could also get one of those tiny whisper filters, i don't know if they sell them individually but i know that they make them for their 1.5 gallon kits.

Nice rescues! That pleco sure is cute, I hope you find a way to keep him.

I love the Azoo palm filter, I use mine whenever I need to set up the quarantine bucket. It's quiet and works well, I recommend them.
