Does anyone else watch their aquarium for almost an hour?

I have a 90 gallon freshwater community aquarium. And I can literally just sit in front of it and watch it for almost an hour. I find it so fascinating to watch the fishes interact with each other and other fishes. Its cool to see them school, and react to other large fishes. So realistic, its like watching national geograpics. LOL.

Is anyone else do this? I'm sure I'm not the only one that does this.

Oh, just in case if you'd like to know what I'm so crazy about watching:

- heavily planted with mostly jungle vals, 2 large drift woods, with sand substrate, and some large rocks.

- 12 rummy nose tetras
- 10 tiger barbs
- 4 siamese algae eaters
- 3 clown loaches
- 3 blue gouramis ( 1 male, 2 female)
- 2 bristle nose pleco ( 1 male,1 female)
- 3 oto catfish
- 1 red tail shark

Yes, so cool eh?

OMG! I could spend hours watching that tank! That is a nicely stocked tank.

Lets see.......55 gal:
1 Silver Dollar
2 baby Silver Dollars
Senegal Bichir
Pearl Gourmai
4 Angelfish

Not as active as yours but still fun to watch.

Ha ha.....funny story......

I sold our big screen tv to fit my 80 gallon tank in our living room My husband wasn't too happy, but I don't even miss it. Our little 23 inch works fine for me

I watch my fish constantly. I even hate turning off the lights cause then I can't watch them. One of these days I am gonna get some moon lights.

I watch mine every morning until I realize that I'm almost late for work. When I get home, I do maintenance and watch them until the wife yells at me to come to the dinner table.

I'm trying to convince the wife to let me put a 70 gallon where our TV is. She's not buying that one though... On the other hand, I think I've convinced her to let me get another 30ish gallon tank if I replace on of the 10 gallons and let her get a "blue lobster"

At least an hour... If I'm not looking at the tank someone else is. Our tank is displayed in the living room. Its one of my show pieces along with my collection of ningyo (japanese dolls). Currently I am monitoring a section of live rock that has a new colony of blue anthelia (waving hand coral) starting to develop. I have to use a magnifying glass to see how their doing. So far so good...

Watching an aquarium is good for your health! Really. Studies have been done that show it lowers blood pressure/ stress levels.

Unfortunately only Devo is in my living room, the other two tanks are in the dining area. And when Devo has an audience, he spends the entire time begging for food.

My husband took this picture of me because it is all I ever do these days - usually counting fry, looking for plant growth, checking health of fish or just plain loving it!

This is so true. I just went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was stolic 117 over diastolic 72. According to standards, a normal blood pressure is 120 over 80.

I have my tank set up where I can enjoy it all evening as I watch tv, or work on my computer. First thing I do in the morning before getting ready for work is check on my fish and see that all are well. It is so relaxing. I have to say though that I have not gotten attached to my fish like some of you. I guess my two dogs and a cat are enough attachments for now. I haven't been keeping fish long, but I am sure at some point I will form some atachments to spceial fish.

In the living room I have a tank on each side of my t.v. I haven't seen a commercial forever, matter of fact I don't see much of the shows either, my BR has a bed, laptop and tank. The tank in my BR (26 bow) has a single red lead light that comes on at night for 2hrs. This gives me time to watch the night fish come out en play, mainly Miz Queen Arabesque pleco. This is how I go to sleep.....pics are of the 26

my hubby has a feeding tube and is confined to our bedroom of hours every day. we have three tanks set up in our room so that is how he deals with the hour of bordom. he has really become attached to each one and is even talking about building his own. he wants it to be 8ftx3ftx2ft= around 400 gallons. dont feel bad we all do it they can be quite fun to watch and before u realize it the laundry is still in the dryer and the sink is full of dishes. .
