Well I've got a paradise fish (Oscar) in QT right now. Tonight I'll be adding the tetra-safestart to my 32 gal and moving my RTS over. Now Oscar has been in QT for a little over a week and seems fine. Would I be better to finish the last few days of his 2 week QT or to add him and Red over to the new tank at the same time?

I would add the paradise FIRST, then add the RTS (as they can get quite territorial). That way the other fish is already established & has staked out some territory.

unless you're concerned about aggression from either one (i'm not very knowledgeable about paradise fish or RTS) and want to add in the less aggressive of the two to try to cut down on it, then i'd probably add them both so that you can make sure that the tank is used to the bio load of both of them. as long as you've inspected him to make sure that he's healthy, you should probably be okay


EDIT: as per amanda's post i'd wait to ad the TSS for a few more days, and put the paradise fish in first and let him stay in there while the TSS goes to work, after a week or two, then add the RTS

his a paradise fish named oscar. I'm pretty sure that on a nastiness comparison he'd tie Red. I picked him b/c he was terrorizing the tank at the LFS. Also they're both about the same size.

lol, gotcha. in that case, you could probably be okay with adding them both at the same time.
