has anyone else made rock caves for their fishys? I have made a few.

they are pretty simple and cheap (which isn't common among fish decorations)
I just collected some rocks from different places cleaned them well and good used some vineger (to test for minderals) and then glued them together with aquarium sealent.

These are some pretty caves And a good way to set them up. I have also read you can create caves using aquarium-safe silicone. It is definitely much cheaper to do, as well as there is much more choice with respect to the way you want the cave to look. Sort of custom-making your own caves

Those are just lovely! It is such a novel idea and I love the small one as it would be able to be tucked in anywhere. So nice!

Yup I'v done that for my tank, one is a tipee type and another is two rocks sticking up and another large rock laying down and a flat rock laying over them, the pleco loves that one. I didn't glue mine together though this way I just lift up the roof and gravel vacuum under it.

just wondering though....do the fish like them...for hiding spots? or what'st he use for them?

Fish love them. Yes, they provide hiding spots. When fish have enough hiding spots, they feel more secure and are less stressed-out.
