You wil love your python! The best tip I could give, is to be careful when you turn the water on and off from the valve near the gravel tube. If you leave the valve closed for very long, the water pressure, will probably force the connection on your sink to blow, and you will have water flying everywhere. Only use this valve when absolutely necessary. I usually turn my water off and on from the sink and only use that other valve when I'm filling multiple tanks and shut it off for only a few seconds to move the tube from one tank to another. Another good idea, is depending on where you live, at least in the summertime, hook your python up to your outside hose if you can, and point the water flow toward your garden. It's a great way to give your plants some extra nutrients, and you're pouring the dirty fishie water outside instead of in your sink. I live in Florida, so I can do this most of the time except in dead winter.
