tank chemistry spreadsheet

Hi everyone! For about the past month I've started keeping a log using Excel for my 3 tanks. Logging water chemistry, water changes, when I add fish or fish die. Is everyone else this anal about keeping track? haha...it seems the best way to go though since I'm actually keeping up with everything now. It'll be nice to know how long my fish actually live as well. Just wondering!

Re: tank chemistry spreadsheet

I do that, but I write it all in one of those bound notebooks.

Re: tank chemistry spreadsheet

My husband gets yearly planners from work every year. You know the kind, each month has big blocs to write in for each day. I use one of those. then I save them each year and I can look back and see when i got fish, when I had fry what I did. It's cool to keep "Logs"

Re: tank chemistry spreadsheet

I keep a little diary where I write down everything (Water changes, Test results, etc.)

If you are comfortable sharing the framework of your EXCEL spreadsheet, I would love to see it. I think that is a great idea!

Re: tank chemistry spreadsheet

I just typed one up tonight.

I divide it up into a few sections:

Fish (and deceased fish)
Equipment
Chemicals
Aquascape (Decorations)
Current Chemical Readings
Important Dates

It's a good way to keep track. Amazing how much money I have spent in less than a month on my little 10 gallon...
