Snails everywhere, need help!!!!!

Some ramshorn snails hitchhiked into my tank via some plants. Now overnight there are more than I can count, theyre everywhere. Ive heard mixed opinions on these snails, but there are just too many. Is there a fish that will eat them, that isnt too big for a 30g, wont bother my ghost shrimp, and wont bother my plants?

Thanks

We have always had great luck with Clown Loaches - try to buy a good sized guy as they are VERY hard to keep alive while small - you may need more than 1 - you will still have some snails (goes with having live plants) but the loaches will keep the population way down - Good Luck - J

Wont the loaches eat the shrimp too? Also I dont think a 30g tank is big enough

You could get one of the smaller loaches, like a dwarf or yoyo -- they'd be fine in a 30g. Clown loaches can get up to 12" in length, and would outgrow a 30g rather quickly.

I've not heard of loaches eating shrimp anymore than any other fish might.

What about a couple of Dwarf Puffers? They love snails, but they're semi-aggressive so I'm not sure how good a choice they'd be.

Yo-Yo loaches are the best snail eaters alive. I have had thousands of the little pests in a tank and they even killed one of my bettas. I got 3 Yo-Yo loaches and now I have 0 snails and the healthiest Yo-Yo loaches (and biggest) I have ever seen. I like them but you need to have a fair size tank for them (at least 10 gallons for a couple of them). They are fascinating to watch.
