hi guys can anyone please tell me whats growing in my tank it looks like hair strands,dark brown in colour growing off the top of my live plants and also the ornaments,please dont all shout at once what it is cos im new to this game, ive kinda assumed it was bad and had a good clean-up today with a thirty per cent water change,cleanng all ornaments in the old water before topping back up with water of same temperature treated with aqua-aid conditioner. was i right

The only thing I can thnik of is algae.

Sounds like hair algae.
Nothing horrible, though the plants will get less light and potentially less CO2 and nutrients.

sounds like algae - how much light does that tank get in a day? would you be able to reduce that any if you needed to?

get some bristle nose plecos and it'll soon be gone....personally I like the look of it growing off the wood.

so its not too bad then, the tank gets 8-10 hours a day with the light on thanks gfor the advise guys
