Here we go again!

Moving to school on Monday. Taking my 10 gallon with me.

I went to a LFS today to buy some stress coat or meth blue for the travel... the guy convinced me I didn't need anything but Prime for the transportation (in an open 5 gallon bucket)....

anyone agree? disagree?

How long is the drive? If it is less than a couple of hours I would not put ANYTHING in it. Dino and I have carried fish for 8 hours atleast without issue in the least. We had about 5 fish in 10g of water for 6-7 hour drive in the back of a minivan just last week. (5 fish that are now housed in a 150g tank that is stocked to the brim) They were absolutely fine.

yea, if it's a long trip then Meth. Blue & Fish Protector (both Kordon products) would be good, but shorter trips they'd be ok without it although i don't think it'd hurt anything if it made you feel better in transporting them.

To update:

Everything went well. I lost one one-month-old fry.... however, I think that I squished him with the net trying to get him ready for travel...

great job! fry are so darty, it's hard not to squish them sometimes, even using a cup to catch them.. glad everyone else made it.
