Disappearing Guppy

I just got back from a 9 day vacation and my fish tank seemed fine except for the fact that my one guppy seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. I checked everywhere for him, in the filter, behind the tank. etc. but there is no trace of him. The rest of my fish are fine, and this guppy showed no signs of distress before I left so I'm not sure how he would have died. I've heard of fish disappearing before but it just seems really strange.

Re: Disappearing Guppy

Maybe the other fish ate him. Did you check the filter? Did you check every hiding spot, or any difficult to access spots in your tank? Maybe he's tangled in some stuff in your tank.

Re: Disappearing Guppy

i had a african dwarf get its leg caught in the filter tube thing that hangs in the watter....and one of my loaches goes inside of my decor...if you look at my tank pics its the one on the far right that has the monpani wood leaning on it...its hollow inside and i picked it up one day to gravel vacume under it and he poped out he hides in there during the day..its a horse face loach i think i might get rid of him...the whole burrowing in gravel thing sounded cool but i never get to see him i forget hes even there somtimes

Re: Disappearing Guppy

If your tank is well planted/decorated it'll be hard to find him. He could be lodged between something or under a stone etc.
