Behavior?

I know its normal for the male molly to chace the female molly but my female is chacing the male and I was wondering if that is normal or if its a sign of pregancy? I've never had mollies so im not really sure and I need help!

Hi gbreeder.

Hmmm, I can't recall ever seeing my females act like bullies to the other mollies, male or female. It might be pregnancy aggression. Feeling a little cramped can cause mollies to act out, too. Your water params all check out?

Maybe someone else will have a better guess. Enjoy the forum in the meantime.

Hey, I have 3 female Mollies in a tank together and one does indeed chase one of the others. She isn't aggressive as such, just chases (can't wait to get a new larger tank for them!)

She is the largest of the 3 (Dalmation Molly) and we believe she was pregnant when we got her as one day we woke to find fry that looked suspiciously like her (unfortunately we were very new to fishkeeping and were completely unprepared for the possibility for fry!)

But she does tend to chase our other Molly's around, but she still looks quite 'fat' so may still be pregnant :S

Hope this helps in some small way?
