Mycreamsicle molly just had some fry....but sadly i couldnt scoop her outta my 5gal and put her in my 40gal in time and she ate like 3/4 of them...maybe more idk... theres 5 left.... and Today I went out and got like 4 different kinds of mollies and the store gave me 8 black molly fry for free... so now i have 13 molly fry in my 5gal...... how long will it take for them to grow to an 1" - 1-1/2"??

I have molly fry that were born mid-August. They're in my 55g and they're about 3/4" now. Soooo, I imagine it will take another 2-3 months before they're bigger than an inch. That's just my experience though. I have no clue what's normal.

I think about 3 months as previously said. It will depend on their diet as well as how often you're changing the water. If you want them to grow quickly, feed them a varied diet that includes baby brine shrimp and daphnia and do a wc daily.

Hi Corbett. So sorry you lost most of your fry. Glad you managed to save some though. Good luck with raising the survivors and the new ones. Keep us updated!

basically it will take same as 3 months.Be sure to get them out of the 5gal as soon as possibly or it will stunt the fish. no matter the behavior. With my experience they will need an adult molly to teach them how to eat and survive. another fish (hopefully not a juvie but a smaller mature) could possibly also substitute as that teacher. if the fry dont learn how to eat they will die. be sure to feed them baby fish powder moving up to flakes and brime shrimp as nessacary. Also,if you dont already have filter floss buy some to put in your filter at your LPS this helps reduce the power of the suction and release and not suck up the baby fry. Sorry if this is too much info..but i wish you good luck to you and your newfound baby molly fry. (P.S. check the gender siblings will mate)
