| balloon muppies? i have about ten 5-7 week old mollies that a rather round much like a balloon molly. they are also very shiny and colorful. they were born by a black lyre tail molly (who is no dead) and the father was a golden sail fin molly, i think. she also gave birth about 12 weeks ago to another batch that looks nothing like these other fry, they are golden, brown and marbled black.
these 7 weeks old babies are marbled (a light brown with black dots) but shiny, much like one of my previous male guppies who is now dead.
i have a few questions questions.
1) what are the chances of cross breeding? what are the chances of a successful birth? the male live bearers in the tank were 3 different mollies (one black lyre tail, one golden sail fin and one black dalmatian) and 2 different male guppies.
2) is it possible for a black female lyre tail molly to give birth to balloon molly fry when she never mated with a balloon molly? i am certain that she has never mated with a balloon molly because the petshop i got her from doesn't stock balloons.
3) is it possible for the same black female lyre tail molly to give birth to balloon muppy fry?
sorry it's so long.
