We have new babies!

We are so excited! We got a pregnant Molly in March, she gave birth about a week later and we were only able to save one fry. Well that little girl is now back in the big tank swimming free and doing great. Momma hogs her food but she's doing fine otherwise. I noticed that mommy was getting fat so I kept an eye on her. I went in yesterday and noticed a fry on the bottom tail up, ugh, I was devastated. I thought dang it, I missed it and they are all gone. So I went to get something to scoop it out with and it darted off! WHOA! whoo!!! I scooped him out and was so excited. So I got my neighbors breeders net. Moved some things around in the tank and got Jr all settled in. I was watching the tank and saw another fry!! Scooped it up and into the breeders net. How exciting...2 fry! I found a dead fry in the filter so I cleaned it out and replaced the filter with a new one, it was time.

So now day 2 and they are doing great. I think they are now a little less stressed and are swimming around a lot more. I hope to have our 29 gallon tank in a months time so that will be perfect timing and they should be ready to join the group. They are so little, I love to watch them dart about.

Babies are doing great! They are a little over a week now and they don't hide anymore. They swim to the top of the net when I open the top of the tank and their big sister who is now 6 weeks old is sooo smart. Daisy will swim to the small space between the net and the tank wall for me to feed her so her mamma doesn't eat it all! lol!! Sunny the momma is a pig and very aggressive to point of being mean. I got so mad at her yesterday I threatened to throw her in the cycling tank! lol!!

We added one peppered cory catfish and named it Kirby since it's a little vacuum cleaner for the tank. All seem to being doing well!

livebearers have a tendency to eat their fry so i'd keep a close eye on her!
