should i move her?

i have a female molly who might give birth in early May (May 4th - 12th, that's what i guessed).

should i move her into the 7 gallon (28 liter) nursery tank now? or should i wait until early May? It wont stress her out and kill the unborn fry if i move her now, will it?

thanks

I wouldn't move her yet if I were you. I generally don't move my Livebearers for birthing until they are VERY near to dropping the fry. I find this doesn't stress them out nearly as much.

but if i do, will it kill the unborn fry? the reason i want to move her now is because i don't want her to drop in the main tank because there are predatory fish like my angel.

It might, It might not. Most of my female Livebearers have had a lot of fry before, and they don't mind being moved about, they're used to it. However young fish may get stressed very easily by being moved and abort the fry.

i also heard that adults of the same species will eat the fry, but i don't see her going after the current fry and my friend just leaves her fish tank be and they breed by them self. she has more than several dozen but she only has guppies, mollies and neon tetras. does yours eat their own fry?

Some of my bigger female Guppies and Platies will if they get the chance.
