HELP! Leeches?!

A couple weeks ago I noticed one of my mollies swimming oddly and on closer inspection noticed a very small (1/2 inch maybe) brownish wormlike thing attached to his tail. I googled info and best I can figure out it was a leech? I caught him to try to get a closer look and leech/whatever it was let go on it's own (I did NOT tug it, didn't want to hurt the fish) so I put the molly back in the tank and squished the "thing" and threw it out.
Watched the fish closely for the next week and all survived and didn't see anymore. Well today much to my dismay I found SEVERAL (maybe10?) more of these creatures, but much smaller(babies?), in my tank hanging on my young (4 month old) mollys!!!
Can anyone tell me what to do to get rid of these? I don't want them to kill/hurt my fish! I read something about a "salt bath" but no idea how to make one or if this is safe? Any help, sugggestions, ideas?

welcome to fishlore if i haven't said it before

can you get a picture of what they look like? that will definitely help members figure out what's going on. also, just to make sure can you post recent water parameters for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. does there appear to be anything else wrong with your fish? are they acting differently at all or showing any other physical signs?

sorry for all the questions

Ouchies. Sounds painful. Pictures would be helpful in identifying the little pests!
