One of my guppies used to have "fits" when I first got him, but he does not have themvery often any more. I hardly ever see them any more.

I'm not sure what causes them though. Any ideas?

It is either what you suggested as fits, but more than likely its the fish getting exited, if you look at when the fits occur (considering it is what I think it is) its when another mollie swimming beside or near it making the fish exited.

Ive seen this behavour with my friends fish.
