Petco Adoption

Today I was walking around Petco and I saw a fishy who looked and I wanted him, he was in the adoption tank and I brought him home and named him Ace. Ace is a large Black Lyretail Molly. He is so cute, I have never had his type of Molly before, hopefully we will be great friends!

The best part is that I was able to adopt him for free..Not sure if that is normal or not, I have never not paid for a fish or gotten one from the adoption tanks.

My Petco has an adoption tank and the adoption tank is the same tank they keep their plants and they have a second tank for aggresive fish like the oscars.

I'll bet that they are fish that people have bought and then returned.

If he is bigger than what they have in the tanks then he will go into the adoption tank..

The LFS I prefer using locally has whats called a re-home tank, about 100 gals! People who have fish that they cannot keep for some reason take them in and they are put up for re-homing.

it is always my 1st port of call, and there is usually something interesting in there besides the livebearer fry that most folks bring in.

Last time I was there the had juve Kribs, a very large Plec and Juve Angels, none of which I had tank space for

Sorry fat fingers 100 not 200
