What to do with Molly fry?

I have 3 female mollies, and thankfully, only one of them seems to be pregnant. The other adult female is as thin as the day I brought her home a few weeks ago, and I don't think the otehr is old enough to have fry. But the pregnant one looks like she should have hers soon, so I'm wondering, does anyone have suggestions on what I can do with the fry? I asked the LFS I bought them from, and they said that they buy theirs from a breeder and they couldn't take mine.

I have the same question. But what if I were to want to keep a few fry? What would be the necessary steps to take to take care of them and allow them to grow healthy? What size tank for an approximate amount as well as food and things like that?

well if your not already overstocked just keep them in the same tank jchacon. and as for maddie this is the perfect oppertunity to invest in getting an oscer tank or some medium african cichlid tank they would love the fry as food. but if you dont want another tank just add an angel. not one of those wallmart tiny ones a nice one from a lfs that is at least 2 inches

Oh

So the fry can be fish food. That's sad! I'm not overstocked at the moment, Evan, but when they grow, when should I relocate them and to where?

well im not an expert on molleys but im guessing the get like 2-4inches maybe in size. and you can have 1 inch of fish for every gallon so i see you have a 16 gallon. and want between 6 and 10 fish all mollies. that would be overstocked when they are adults but if your getting all juvies you should be able to pass of with 7 or 8 for the time beeing but if you wish to keep them all i would look on kijij for a larger tank maybe at least a 20 or so.

i wouldnt sell them if you like them but you could as i said introduce an angel or you could sell the fry to people in your community as feeder fish. but if either of those do not setle well with you then just sell them and get tetras or something that is not so easily breed

Ohh, Kijiji! I didn't see the last 'i' on it xD Bwahah. Thanks Mr. Clown.

And as for the angelfish, would it actually take care of them... or are you trying to trick me into it that it'll annihilate all the fry? ._.

I have fry on montly basis and I have a 10 gal fry tank with one cory and the platy, molly fry. When they are about 1" long I pull them out and put them in the 50 gal tank. I feed them a powder food Think is call little bites. Is an resealable green bag. Is specially for fry. and then when they are about 1/4" to 1/2" crushed flake food.
Good Luck.

Do Mollies and Danios get along ? Is there a "fry eater" that could live with Danios ? I think Danios would nip an Angel. Right ??
