Pregnant Molly Not releasing Babies

Hey there Everybody! I have a pregnant Creamsicle Lyre Tail Molly. She has been clearly pregnant for 2 Months now. I know that this shouldn't be the case becase gestation is only one month, but she hasn't released her babies and has a gravid spot. She has been largely pregnant since right after Thanksgiving. I have fed her peas just incase she was constipated. Her bowel movements are regular. Has anyone else experienced this before? All of my tank levels are perfect. No Amonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH is 8, temperature is 80F. What do you think?

Maybe you have missed the fry from the 1st batch. if you don't separate the mother from the fry they will be eaten.

Also Welcome to fishlore

If she's stressed for some reason, she may not release the babies. Is she being kept in the tank in general, or one of those breeding traps?

Hi Dr. She is being kept in her normat tank, I had tried a breeding net because I thought that maybe the male was bothering her, not allowing her to relax but she didn't release them. *this was back in the beginning of December* So I took her out and never put her back in there. She didn't like it in there. She just sat there looking at her husband, he just sat there trying to get in. I think that they missed eachother.

Sounds good, I was actually going to say that the breeding traps stress them out too much most of the time :-P
If Mike's right and you missed the first fry, I'd suggest more fry hiding places, like java and/or christmas moss.
