How many mollies can I have in a 20 gal tank

Right now I have 10 mollies in my tank, two of which are balloon mollies. One of my mollies had a batch of fry about two weeks ago. Right now they are in a breeder box in the tank. How long should I keep them in there before I release them into the tank? How many mollies can I have in that size tank? I test and change water on a regular timetable and have a penguin Bio wheel 150 and 2 air stones.

Well the basic guide line is 1in of fish per 1 gallon of tnak, i prefer to use 1in of fish for 3 gallon but thats my idea. Assuming mollies arent smaller than 2in full grown, id say your just about at your limit now, if i were you id see if a local pet store would take those baby mollies.

My understanding is that mollies get to about 3 inches, so assuming that you are definitely over. This isn't necessarily a problem unless there are issues of aggression or if you can't keep up with more frequent water changes. Overstocking means that you'll really need to monitor your water levels, especially until enough bacteria can build up on your filter to handle the large bio-load.
