help with pregnant mollie.

i'm totally new to having fish.. i've only had my tank about a week and a half, but i'm 95% sure one of my mollies is pregnant and i'm not too sure what to do.
i'm thinking of getting a separate tank(maybe 5/10ish gallons). i have one kind of picked out, but it doesn't come with a heater, so i'm wondering if i put my pregnant mollie in there until she gives birth and then put her back into the community tank afterwards, would the fry be okay in the tank without a heater, or is that essential?

the fry need a heater, and the mother should not be moved into the community tank for up to 2 days. by the way, your emerald cat will get huge, needing at least a 100g tank, and it needs to eat feeder fish. also, move the mother if it starts eating the fry.

okay.. i'm pretty sure with the tank i have in mind i can easily add a heater(it's like a starter kit kind of thing so it has everything else.)
if i were to put the mollie in the tank until she gives birth and then put her into the community tank, but in a breeder net for 2 days, would that be okay?

and really about the catfish? the lady at the store told me he would only get to be like 3 inches. if he gets bigger than that, i couldn't keep him.

Hi Katerup Welcome to Fish Lore

I see by your aqaurium info that your tank isn't cycled. For the health and safety of your fish, please read this article about the nitrogen cycle:
http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm

Do you have a test kit? The API is highly recommended and is very accurate.

Your correct about your emerald cat getting to be 3 inches, here's some information on it:

Good luck.
