Urgent, Help

Is this molly giving birth (thought she looked pregnant a while ago) or is it swim bladder disease?

There is a clear something hanging out her rear end, i did a water change today and tested the water today results 0 ammonia and nitrites, nitrates less than 5ppm.

I am only wondering as this tank has had bad luck this week i have lost 2 platys to unknown reasons and shes in the corner that the fish go to when they die!!!

None of the other fish are bothering her. Is it too late to move her to the breeding net, will this stress her out to much?

Anna

It looks like swim bladder, I had a molly die a while back from the same thing.
Swim bladder disease could be caused by constipation (which fits the white stuff and her looking pregnant.) If she's able to swim at all, try giving her a frozen pea. That did the trick for my little guy.

Hopefully someone who knows more about this will comp along and help you.

Thanks, bettagirl.

She as fine last night eating as normal, does swim bladder come on very fast?

I remember her being fine this morning.

Shes breathing a little hard and hasnt moved at all, she occasionally moves her pectoral fins i dought she could eat right now.

Would it be best to euthanase her?

If it looks long and stringy, it could be parasites. I can't really see it in the pic.

The stuff coming out her back end is not long and stringy, husband recons it looks like amniotic sac??

do live bearer have those?

I dont like seeing her suffer, should i euthanise her or see how she goes?

will it stress her more if she got put into the breeder net?

Being that you've lost 2 mollies this week, something is going on, for sure.
I'd move her to a quarantine tank in case she has something contagious and everyone else in the tank won't bother her.

As far as putting her down, only you can be the judge of that, I'm sorry she's ill.

try feeding her a pea...microwave it to thaw it out. be sure to put it in a small bowl of tank water while it is in the microwave...that seems to help with constipation

idk about the net...if u give her a pea, she prob wont find it easy, so a breeder net might help with that

I agree with trying to feed her a couple of small bits of thawed pea, or fasting her for a few days might help.

Thankyou for your help everyone who responded but she died, a few minutes ago.

Something is wrong with the tank but all tests i have done have come back normal.

Might post about it in another section see if people have any ideas?

I'm really sorry Anna, I know you were trying to do your best for her. She's not suffering anymore, and that's a good thing.
Did the other mollies show the same symptoms?
I'd still say parasites is a good possiblity or a bacterial infection.

Have you added anyhting new to the tank lately?

The other 2 were platies.

Only thing added lately were a few new plants. Some vals corkscrew and microsword?

I didn't bleach them or anything.

I'm really at a loss as to what to do.

Oh, sorry, platies, it's hard to lose a pet. I hope you figure out what's going on.
