how big are molly babies usually? I swear that the ones my molly had on the 22nd are almost 1/2 in. is this normal?

Most of my babies are VERY tiny. However, I purchased a very large dalmation molly who had babies 2 days later and they were much bigger than my normal babies. It's been 3 weeks now, and they're already larger than some others that are twice they're age.

I've got one baby who was born along with masses of siblings earlier this year. He's my lone survivor, and the oddball of the group. When he was born he was pretty tiny- just a squiggle, not much bigger then a default-text-sized comma.

Now he's over an inch long, growing FAST (it's scary). The second batch of fry that dropped after his were small too, but since Mollies are livebearers, maybe the more room Momma has for them to grow... the bigger they can possibly get?

I've seen some larger fairly new babies in the LFS's, too.

Yah my dalmatian molly had 20 fry the night i brought her home. mine were small too.

the ones from one of my swordtails gave birth to over 20 babies and they were tiny. I think size is related to the number of fry that are being born
