Molly's and Ick

I have a 55 gal social tank with 5 juvenile Molly's in it. The Molly's came from a home birth here, from a White fem. and Dalmation male. My water has been tested over and over again and come's up fine, and I have rock vacumed my tank, religiously, but I cannot seem to get rid of the Ick problem. I have tried using Melafix and Ick Cure (at diff. times of course) and it'll go away fro a few days, them comes right back. I've raised my water temp. to 82F, and it goes away for a few days, but comes right back after I let the water resume it's normal temp of 74F. When I raise the water temp. I notice that my other fish become slightly lethargic and they don't play around, as normal.

The other fish consist of:

9 Platy's, 1 Rainbow Shark, 5 Black Skirt tetra's, 1 large and 3 med. Danio's, 3 Dwarf Guarami's, 1 Opaline Guarami, 6 Catfish, 1 Beta, 2 large Guppy's, 4 Ghost Shrimp and a floating nursery of Fry (approx. 25). With numerous live plants as well.

I'm at my wits end on what to do for these guys.

Well I have no good advice either...thought I knew how to cure ich and just lost 7 fish to it....my water temp is 85 ( turned up slowly to that temp to killl off the ich )and the ich EXPLODED in the tank . I still have 6 cories and 10 glowlights...all the angels died and I had to euthanize the last 2 cherry barbs as they looked like they were suffering and I wanted to remove them as a source of infection...I had used quick cure and then coppersafe...as well as very high temp...not sure if there is a stronger strain of ich out there now or what ...but I am hoping to save the glowlights and cories....good luck with you tank.

im sorry your fish are sick I hope they make it thru this ordeal....leaving the temps to 83 for two weeks should take care of it..with daily water changes or an air bubble in the tank and water changes every other day as higher water temps have less oxygen...also the ich spore harbors in the gravel so you want to do a nice vac job also.. your tank is overstocked so manybe they are stressed which in turn brings on ich

Well, I have been doing daily "small" water changes ( just enough to remove some water so I can add the warmer water) and so far, so good , they are responding to it nicely. Looks liek their gonna be just fine now...WOO HOO!!!!

awesome! its nice to see them get better..but you are still way overstocked so ich will return from fish being stressed..ich is always present in tanks and just waits to see a fish with lower immune systems or stress to attack...

The 55 gal tank that they are in is actually an atrium, so the water displacement is different than the taller ones. The rest of my fish are all fine and well, it's just the Molly's that were getting sick, but with raising the water temp., I've noticed that the Ick hasn't been showing itself.
