Gravid spot?

Ive heard people mention about the gravid spot. What is it and what does it look like? How do I identify it?

The gravid spot appears on the rear end of the females belly. This only makes it appearance when the female is pregnant, and about to give birth in a couple of weeks. It appears as a dark grey, almost black spot near the females'... ummm... yeah. If your mollies aren't spotted or black, you'll be able to notice it. If they are either one, you'll be able to tell by the enlarged belly.

Actually,

Some females have a pink/clear gravid spot where you can sometimes even see the babies before they're born.
The gravid spot shows up on most livebearer females when they become sexually mature, not necessarily when they are gravid (gravid means "with fry"/"pregnant".)
The gravid spot is at the base of the belly area just behind the VENT. (The vent is where waste comes out, sperm goes in, and babies come out.)

The vent is the hole near the anal fin. (The anal fin is the one on bottom near where the body slims down into the tail.

Hope that helps.
