PETCO Guy dropped my baby fishies :<

I brought in 8 young mollies (1/2-3/4 inch) to PETCO to donate because it's one of the only things I can do with my fry. I guess the guy was pretty new, but he went to scoop out some of my babies from my big bucket, and dropped two of them on the cement floor!!! This happened in front of my very sensitive fish loving 7 and 9 year old children. He tried to pick them up a few times but they kept flopping around. I was so upset. He told me, "It looks like they're still alive". Maybe for now, but I'm FURIOUS. My poor little babies

The best way that I have found to pick up a dropped fish is to get something thin( paper or credit card thin) and lay it next to them and nudge them to get them to flop onto it..pick it up making sure they don't flop off and place in the tank...what a shame for people to treat any animal fish included like they don't count. They are only there for us. I think if we are going to have pets of any sort from fish to horses we need to treat them with respect and care.

Just for my 2 cents, when picking up a fish with your hands, it's better to dip your hands in tank water first so that when you do touch them, their slime coat isn't harmed as much.

That is a horrible story! What a shame your kids had to witness such a thing....
