The other day I was zoning out in front of my live 60 gal screen saver and noticed that in addition to my rainbowfish chasing each other (very normal, in fact I'm worried when they don't chase each other across the tank) I noticed my White Lyretail chasing my 2 fancy goldfish (who need to be moved to a new tank but I can't justify a new tank when we're getting ready to move in the coming months)

Is this normal or should I be concerned that he is nipping at their fins?

With all fin nippers, just be sure that they are not actually hurting the other fish. If you see fin loss by injury you would have to do something about the culprit. If you cannot buy a new tank as yet, maybe buying a divider will help if it gets out of hand.

There doesn't seem to be any damamge to the tail fins or really anything noticeable. All the fish seem to chase each other so I really didn't think much about it at first, but I was used to the Rainbows chasing each other or the yellow molly chasing them, but when whitey started chasing the slower goldfish I began to be concerned. Thanks for the info though
