New Arrivals!

Good Morning Fishlore!

This morning we woke up to Molly Fry!

Yesterday, I moved some fish around to make room to my platinum (white) molly to give birth. She was super pregnant. I usually dont raise fry anymore. I just let them drop in the tank, and if the fry live, they live... however, about a week ago I found a few fry in the filter and it sparked my fry rearing interest again.

Anyway, It looks like we have about 30 or so.... and they appear white, so far... however, there are white and creamsicle males that could have done the deed here. So, I am curious as to how they will color up.

As soon as I get settled, Ill post a picture.

YAY, fry!

It definately looks like more than 30 fry today!

The last few batches of fry we had, were platy fry. The molly fry are much larger. Its amazing. Looks like I am going to need a bigger grow out tank now...

(like, I need an excuse!)

The molly fry are more fun to me than platties.....I also have white, and I think it is strange how some of them are gray at birth, and some white, then by the time they grow, there all white.

I wish you luck with that MTS....Fight it, you know you can....

I say that, and I have a 10 full of fry, a 55 growout, and the 125 with too many in it....SOME are going to the LFS this week!

Congrats on the fry Essigs family.

S-Flower, the molly fry that are gray at birth and grow up to be white, just imagine them as the ugly ducklings of the fish world.

Congratulations on the molly fry! Mollies are some of my favorite fish ever, they're adorable.

I hope it doesn't get to time taxing taking care of 30 new fish, but they will get pretty attractive as mollies usually are.
