Black Molly With Ick

Hi, I've had a black molly since July and for the first month or so she was fine but ever since that point she has almost consistently had ick. I treat it, and she gets better then after a short period of time it comes back. Also any times I do a water change, no matter how small, and she gets ick, or it worsens. I check the water chemistries on both and they are fine and the temperature is the same so it shouldn't be causing any real stress. Does any one have any clue? I dont like having to medicate her this much and it is difficult to have her and other fish at the same time.

What temperature is your tank?

The easiest way to successfully battle Ick is to raise the temperature up to between 82-84 degrees and leave it there for 2-4 weeks........This kills the parasite in the stage when it is in the water, not on the fish......which in turn will rid your tank of it.
When you just medicate and the parasite that is attacking the fish is killed, it is still in the water, and can reinfect.

I am sure there are many posts under freshwater diseases here that will tell you the same thing.

Good Luck
